Lost in time and modernity prepares the athlete for the most demanding part of the challenge. From the ridge of Monte Velão to Pena Suar there are stormy winds. It isn’t Adamastor, no. It is Alvão and Marão that fight and measure strengths. The athlete shelters himself on Alto de Espinho and attacks the Alto das Veias and the Portal da Freita (1344m). The storm gives truce. It crawls through a forest of birch trees. In the village of Montes the people are very kind, just like in Cotorinho.
